Sergio's Restaurants "Going Red for Women"

Sergio's Restaurants are "Going Red for Women" this month by teaming up with the American Heart Association (AHA) to help prevent heart disease. February is American Heart Month, and Sergio's is making a difference with healthy Cuban food made with love – just in time for Valentine's Day.

"Our healthy but flavorful menu is a great fit for the promotion of heart health and we're delighted to partner with the American Heart Association," CEO of Sergio's Restaurant, Carlos Gazitua said. "Our La Flaca menu follows many requirements of a healthy diet. It's a great alternative to common, not-so-healthy dishes on the typical Latin menu."

Along with Lola's February wardrobe change, Sergio's employees are wearing red shirts and promoting their heart-healthy menu items to raise awareness of the disease. This is all in an effort to prevent heart disease - the number one killer of Latina women.

"One in three women die of heart disease and stroke but through education about heart disease, these cardiac events can be prevented by as much as 80 percent," Gazitua said. "Women love the flavors at Sergio's and we offer better healthy options when they go out to eat."
